2nd Desert Architecture Mena ForumWe are pleased to announce that Anees Backer and Irina Tadello will participate in the 2nd Desert Architecture MENA Forum in Dubai, contributing to key discussions on the future of building in extreme climates.
On day one, Anees Backer joins the panel ‘Future Façades: Balancing Aesthetics, Performance, and Climate Resilience’, exploring how façade systems can adapt to heat, glare, and dust while balancing energy efficiency, cultural relevance, and long-term performance.
On day two, Irina Tadello moderates ‘Designing the Net Zero Desert’, discussing how architectural innovation, renewable energy systems, passive design strategies, and cross-disciplinary collaboration can support the UAE’s journey toward Net Zero 2050 in extreme desert environments.
Across both sessions, one point becomes clear: the performance of the building envelope under extreme conditions directly influences energy demand, durability, and occupant comfort.
We look forward to exchanging perspectives on what resilient architecture must deliver in practice today.
